It’s a busy week as preparations continue to transform Hull into a winter wonderland once again, with the big light switch-on taking place on Thursday!

Hull’s comedy festival continues with the Hullarious Fringe event at Kings providing daily acts, and Hull’s annual Comic Con takes place on Sunday too. And as always, the week is packed with even more comedy, sports, cinema, theatre, and more!

Christmas Lights Switch-On 2022

Thursday 17 Nov @ Queen Victoria Square, Carr Ln, Hull HU1 3RA

Queen Victoria Square will come alive with stunning light and sound installations!

Hull’s stunning Christmas lights will be switched on by Hull’s own Connor Lynes, star of the England Physical Disability Rugby League team who recently stormed to victory over New Zealand in the World Cup, alongside the Deputy Lord Mayor.

Entertainment will get underway at 5pm, with DJ Darren Lethem taking the reins as host on Hull City Hall balcony to introduce a host of live performances to entertain the crowds.

Hull Independent Cinema: Moonage Daydream

Hull Independent Cinema presents ‘Moonage Daydeam’ at Vue Cinema.

Documentarist Brett Morgen spent five years going through David Bowie’s personal libraries, master recordings, and archives, as sanctioned by the late musician’s estate, in the hope of understanding and deconstructing the musical artistry and spiritual journey of the English global icon.

The resulting film features narration in Bowie’s own voice as the story presents how he crafted his multidisciplinary artistry and newly remastered music. An immersive, mysterious, life-affirming and risk-taking cinematic experience that illuminates Bowie’s life and work.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show

After celebrating more than 30 years of playing Pink Floyd’s music the whole world stopped in 2020 when the global pandemic caused the postponement and cancellation of virtually all live music. Now, however, its time to shine on again as The Australian Pink Floyd Show returns with a new tour for 2022.

The “All That’s To Come” Tour will resume, bringing to the stage the songs that mean so much to Pink Floyd fans all over the world.

The Diana Ross Story

The World’s Premier show in celebrating Diana Ross and The Supremes, prepare to be taken on a spellbinding journey concerning one of the greatest musical stories ever told!

The show is a chronological history of hits from a career culminating in over 100 million record sales, and is masterfully fronted by two international Diana Ross performers – Cheri Jade, who will play Diana in The Supremes, and Tameka Jackson, who will be playing Diana Ross during her solo career.

Hull Seahawks v MK Lightning

The Hull Seahawks welcome MK Lightning to the Hull Ice Arena for an NIHL National Division ice hockey fixture.

The Seahawks have been resurrected within the community of Hull and we have the best-priced family tickets in the league. For a fun, exciting and fast-paced sport with (some) fighting, come on down to the Hull Ice Arena this Sunday to support the lads, everyone is welcome!

Children under 5 go FREE!

Doors open at 16:30 and the face-off is at 17:30.

Saxon at Hull City Hall!

Tuesday 22 Nov @ Hull City Hall Queen Victoria Square, Carr Ln, Hull HU1 3RQ.

British heavy metal legends Saxon are heading to Hull City Hall as part of their ‘Seize The Day’ UK tour. 

The concert will see the band bring to life their new album ‘Carpe Diem’, which will ignite the joy in stalwart supporters and attract a whole new legion to the Saxon fold, alongside crowd favourites from their 44-year career.  

Frontman Biff Byford: “Can’t wait to get out on a real tour again, it’s gonna be monumental!  See you all out there … SEIZE THE DAY!”

The band have been at the forefront of heavy metal for more than four decades, have sold more than 15 million albums, including four top 10 UK albums, and played to hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide.

They will be supported by very special guests Diamond Head.
