La Boheme – Ellen Kent, The Ukrainian Opera, & Ballet Theatre Kyiv
Wednesday 8 Feb @ Hull City Hall
Senbla presents Opera International’s award-winning Ellen Kent Production featuring the Ukrainian Opera & Ballet Theatre Kyiv, with international soloists, a highly-praised chorus and a full orchestra.
Starring Ukrainian soprano Alyona Kistenyova, Korean soprano Elena Dee and French soprano Olga Perrier. Directed by Ellen Kent, this brand-new production is traditionally staged and features beautiful sets and costumes!
La Bohème is one of the most romantic operas ever written. It tells the tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer.

Noise Next Door: Hometown Heroes
Wednesday 8 Feb @ Hull Truck Theatre
The quickest wits in comedy are coming to town with a side-splitting evening of hilarious off-the-cuff songs, scenes and characters. The stars of ‘Tonight at the Palladium’ (ITV1) will spin comedy gold out of the all things that YOU, the live audience, think are the best, worst and downright weirdest things about your hometown. Maybe a bit of local laughter really can save the day!
The Noise Next Door are thirteen-time sell-out veterans of The Edinburgh Fringe and have appeared on ‘The One Show’ (BBC One), ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ (ITV1), and ‘Roast Battle’ (Comedy Central). They have also appeared alongside the likes of Michael McIntyre, Katherine Ryan, Romesh Ranganathan and Harry Hill.

Thursday Lates: An Evening with Emily Oetegenn
Thursday 9 Feb @ Humber Street Gallery
As she grapples with the idea of having no dignity in denying her own identity, spoken word artist and filmmaker Emily Oetegenn explores the multi-dimensional fragments of herself, from fledgling contemplation to phoenix fruition.
The evening will see her share her signature spoken word, her original short film Reprise and her new film commission Alternative Stratosphere, exploring queer love, disability and sensuality filmed by Fly Girl Films at Hull New Theatre.
Following this, there will be a short Q&A session on her process of writing, hopes for the future and Walt Disney Studios’ inspiration.

This is Elvis – Ben Portsmouth

Ben Portsmouth, from Reading, England, is a singer, songwriter, musician and actor (Autopsy: The Last Hours of Elvis 2014 & Elvis: Are You Lonesome Tonight 2020) and most notably an internationally renowned Elvis Tribute Artist.
Ben had Elvis’s DNA in his blood from an early age. His father was an avid Elvis fan and Ben grew up on a diet of Elvis songs. Having honed his musical talent Ben started his journey as an Elvis Tribute Artist in 2005 when he formed the Taking Care of Elvis Band.
Audiences and promoters quickly realised that this was someone with a special talent. He looked like Elvis, sang like Elvis and had an on-stage charisma that had audiences believing at times they were watching the King himself.
