The Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market returns to Beverley this week for a second year to celebrate the very best produce local businesses have to offer.

The market will take place in Saturday market (main square) between Wednesday, 7 December and Friday, 9 December, opening at 10am and finishing at 6pm each evening.

An array of festive entertainment and activities including the Yorkshire Oompah Band (Friday 4pm – 6pm) are planned throughout the three days on the lead up to the Festival of Christmas which will be returning for a 26th year on Sunday, 11 December. The market will also feature a number of local school choirs, carol singers and shire horses taking Santa around Saturday market.

The market will celebrate the very best produce that East Yorkshire’s local businesses have to offer, from food and drink to crafts and gifts and will be a great opportunity to buy early Christmas presents.

There will also be a free Park and Ride service from Beverley Racecourse which will begin at 9.45am each day. The last bus from Beverley back to Beverley Racecourse will be at 6.30pm. It is expected buses will run every 20 minutes.

Councillor Jane Evison, portfolio holder for economic investment, growth and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “I am delighted that the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will return again to Beverley this year. It is a terrific offering of entertainment, food, drink and crafts as we build up to the Festival of Christmas on the Sunday.

“Last year showed there is an appetite in Beverley to support these events and we have decided to run the market for three days to allow residents to come down and visit the local businesses which have taken up stalls this year. Not everyone will be able to make the Festival of Christmas event so this market really does extend that Christmas spirit into the week prior.”
