The region’s best tribute music festival is on in and it’s happening this week!

Tribfest will be opening it’s doors for its fourteenth year this weekend, after the event being cancelled last year.

Ed Faulkner, the festival director said ‘We are so lucky to have so many loyal fans, without them this year would have been impossible.

“86% of ticket holders rolled them over instead of claiming a refund which was a lifeline and the amount of messages of support we’ve had, really gets you through the tough times.”

Tribfest is an exciting instalment of Yorkshire’s music events and has been voted Best Entertainment and Leisure Venue in East Yorkshire 2018 -2020 (Best Bar None Awards) as well as being a finalist for Remarkable Tourism Event of the Year in 2018 and 2019 in the annual REYTA awards.

“After almost 2 years we are back!” says Ed.

“It’s been an absolute roller coaster for us as an industry but seeing everyone with big smiles on their faces will make everything worthwhile.

“We want to honour all of the people who should have been at Tribfest this year so, we are doing a minutes applause and sharing their photos on the big screen. It will be really emotional but we are proud to be able to honour their memory at a place that they loved.’

“We have been working very closely with Public Health England and East Riding of Yorkshire Council both have been incredibly supportive and helpful. We’ve heard some horror stories of councils forcing events to cancel so we are really lucky that East Riding have been really encouraging.”

“We have so much in place to make this event as safe as possible” Ed explains.

They have handwashing and sanitiser stations all over the site, all the marquees are larger to allow people to spread out, queueing systems in place at the bars, and masks are optional. They are also encouraging all attendees to do a lateral flow test within 24 hours of travelling to the festival and asking people to stay at home if it is a positive result.

“We still want Tribfest to feel like a festival and so we are working really hard to strike the balance and I think we’ve cracked it thanks to the great team around us”.
