With Easter around the corner, another eventful week begins in Hull, with a fun collection of easter events at Burton Constable Hall for the family to enjoy. Hull’s live show scene is especially active this week as well, with performances and shows such as Ed Byrne: If I’m Honest, Saving Grace Featuring Robert Plant & Suzi Dian, Heather Small, and more taking place throughout the week.

Easter Trail in the Hall

Monday 11th – Sunday 24th April @ Burton Constable Hall

Bunny rabbits are on the loose around Burton Constable Hall and they’ve gathered up all of the Easter treats – can you help them find them all? Collect a trail sheet upon arrival and fill it in as you go. Once you’ve completed the task, on your way out, return to the Ticket Desk to receive a treat for your efforts!

Outdoor Easter Trail

Monday 11th – Sunday 24th April @ Burton Constable Hall

Burton Constable Hall’s outdoor Easter Trail will take you on an adventure through their Grounds, Stables & Parkland where you will have to follow the clues to find the Easter egg nests! The nests could be hidden anywhere, so be sure to grab a trail sheet to help you navigate your way around. Fill in the word from each nest you find and make a magical sentence to unlock an Easter treat.

Bedknobs & Broomsticks

Tuesday 12th – Saturday 16th April @ Hull New Theatre

First mentioned in last week’s Top Picks, the Bedknobs and Broomsticks stage musical finally begins this week. With the original songs by the legendary Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ), including Portobello Road, The Age Of Not Believing, The Beautiful Briny, and new music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and book by Brian Hill; Bedknobs and Broomsticks will be brought to life by award-winning theatre-makers Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison.

Easter Raceday

Wednesday 13th April @ Beverly Racecourse

Racing is back at Beverley Racecourse for 2022!

Enjoy an afternoon of racing, children’s entertainment, food and drink; you might even catch a sighting of the Easter Bunny! Everyone loves Easter, full of chocolate Easter eggs. So this Easter why not surprise the little ones with a personal invitation from the Easter Bunny to the race day Easter Egg Hunt?

Saving Grace, Featuring Robert Plant & Suzi Dian

Thursday 14th April @ Hull City Hall

Saving Grace, the co-operative featuring Robert Plant and Suzi Dian (vocals), Oli Jefferson (percussion), Tony Kelsey (mandolin, baritone, acoustic guitar), and Matt Worley (banjo, acoustic, baritone guitars, cuatro), will play Hull City Hall later this year.

Since forming in 2019, Saving Grace have been acclaimed for their live shows with glowing reviews from big names such as Bob Harris who called it “One of the best gigs I’ve seen in years”. They will be joined by special guest Scott Matthews.

Friday 15th April @ Bonus Arena

Simple Minds will visit the Bonus Arena, Hull as part of their 40th anniversary tour.

Saturday 16th April @ Hull City Hall: Mortimer Suite

Comedians off the telly from such shows as BBC 2’s Mock The Week, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC 1’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow etc. Plus the best of the rest!

After being Part of M People, hits such as ‘Moving On Up’, ‘One Night In Heaven’ and ‘Search For The Hero’, and albums like Elegant Slumming, Bizarre Fruit and Fresco achieving massive worldwide success, Heather became one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s. The band won the Best British Dance Act Award at the Brits in 1994 and 1995, as well as the Mercury Music Prize for Elegant Slumming.
