This reimagining of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical transports the American classic to 1950s Hull.
Yet the poignant story remains as a bustling fair rolls into town and the smooth-talking carnival worker Billy falls in love with local girl Julie.

Featuring the much-loved songs of the original as well as new characters from Hull’s past, this tale of star-crossed lovers sees Billy’s rebellious streak lead to tragedy.

Professor Brian Cox – Horizons

Having set two Guinness World Records with his previous sell-out World Tour, Professor Brian Cox is back with a brand-new Arena show.

Horizons takes audiences on a dazzling cinematic journey; a story of how we came to be and what we can become. Using state-of-the-art LED screen technology, Arenas will be filled with images of far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes and a time before the Big Bang. What is the nature of space and time? Why does the Universe exist? How did life begin, how rare might it be and what is the significance of life in the Cosmos? What does it mean to live a small, finite life in a vast, eternal Universe? The deepest of questions will be explored using the latest advances in our understanding of quantum theory, black holes, biology, planetary science, astronomy and cosmology.

An Evening with The Alligators

Cherry burton arts is to host a special cd launch event with popular blues band the alligators at the village hall, cherry burton near Beverley on Friday 16 September at 8pm. An Evening With The Alligators will start with a unique opening set by the band in acoustic format. They will perform a short intimate warm-up, before they stand up, plug in, and return to their more familiar electric comfort zone for the rest of the night with their raunchy rock n’ blues that audiences adore.

Their special guest Ben Beattie will be joining them on saxophone during the evening to make this a night to remember.
