Ladies Unleashed

Thursday 29 Sep @ Hull Truck Theatre

Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda arrive for a long-awaited get-together on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. It’s years since the gang were together and the time is finally right. It’s a joyful reunion but cut off from the mainland, tensions start to rise with the tide.

The island itself is just as restless and when a huge storm hits, the heavens open in more ways than one. With the power out, the old friends face their fears and are forced to confront the past. Will they make it through the night? As dawn breaks, they start to see the world in a new light.

They were also fans of renowned trumpeters Harry James and Louis Armstrong and vocalists Mahalia Jackson, Lena Horne and Frank Sinatra.

Deborah’s older brother Michael was a photographer and DJ of Northern Soul and Motown, her eldest brother John was, and still is, considered one of the greatest drummers who ever picked up a pair of sticks.
