The best events around Hull & East Yorkshire this week | 26 Oct – 1 Nov 2022

As the end of October arrives, we’ve prepared a blood-curdling collection of eerie events taking place this Halloween!

Instead of staying home stocking sweets and parading pumpkins, why not sojourn into the eerie night and attend one of our spooky selections? From Halloween parties and parades such as The Bar at 55 Whitefriargate’s Spectres and Spirits event and Hulloween Steampunk Festival, to eerie events and activities such as Burton Constable Hall’s Halloween at the Hall: Haunted Hall, there’s something for every soul!

And don’t forget, there’s always more to do than we can fit, so make sure to check our events listings

Bugsy Malone

Now to Saturday 29 Oct @ Hull New Theatre

Alan Parker’s world-famous movie which launched the careers of Jodie Foster and Scott Baio, becomes a spectacular theatrical experience for the very first time on tour in this revival of the universally acclaimed Lyric Hammersmith Theatre production. Packed with instantly recognisable songs from Oscar winner Paul Williams including ‘My Name is Tallulah’, ‘You Give a Little Love’ and ‘Fat Sam’s Grand Slam’, Bugsy Malone is a joyously uplifting masterclass of musical comedy!

Queen Victoria and Hull Exhibition

Now until 19 Feb 2023 @ Ferens Art Gallery

A new exhibition at Ferens Art Gallery will celebrate Queen Victoria’s relationship with Hull, tell the tale of Victorian Hull, and showcase the long-lasting relationship the throne has with the City.

At the heart of the exhibition, an ongoing partnership with The Royal Collection Trust brings Queen Victoria’s Jewel-Cabinet to Hull, generously lent by His Majesty The King. This Victorian masterpiece, designed by Ludwig Grüner, was commissioned as a gift from her husband Prince Albert. It was an important exhibit at the nation’s Great Exhibition of 1851, a celebration of Victorian advancement and cultural sophistication.
