Swan Lake

Saturday 12 Nov @ The Bonus Arena

For the first time in the UK, this ballet company is from Moldova with dancers from different countries all over the world, including Ukraine.

Swan Lake is the compelling legend of a tragic romance in which a princess, Odette, is turned into a swan by an evil curse. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?

From the opulent splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where majestic swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all. Swan Lake captures, like no other ballet, the full range of human emotions – from hope to despair, from terror to tenderness, from melancholy to ecstasy.

A wonderful evening out, the memories of which you will cherish long after the final curtain falls.

After garnering support from local BBC Introducing DJ, Jericho Keys, Phil Taggart and new music exemplar Huw Stephens handed ‘What Are You Dreaming?’ plays on BBC R1, whilst John Kennedy and Felix White gave the track back-to-back spins on Radio X where it was
play-listed and remained for 3 weeks.

The Full Monty

Tuesday 15 Nov @ Hull New Theatre

Packing up the Nation’s Treasures

Tuesday 15 Nov @ Hull’s Guildhall

Dr. Caroline Shenton

As Hitler prepared to invade Poland during the sweltering summer of 1939, men and women from across London’s museums, galleries and archives formulated ingenious plans to send the nation’s highest prized objects to safety. Using stately homes, tube tunnels, slate mines, castles, prisons, stone quarries and even their own homes, a dedicated bunch of unlikely misfits packed up the nation’s greatest treasures and, in a race against time, dispatched them throughout the country on a series of top-secret wartime adventures.

Kevin Bloody Wilson

Tuesday 15 Nov @ Hull New Theatre

There are few international comedians today who shoot down political correctness with such comedic pinpoint accuracy as Australia’s Kevin Bloody Wilson.

While today’s Age Of Outrage has his contemporaries ducking for cover over anything slightly controversial, Kev crushes PC eggshells with the grace and diplomacy of a wounded buffalo. Kev’s famous approach to PC is a breath of fresh air, direct, clever and outrageously funny. He doesn’t mince words and he doesn’t rely on subtlety to get his point across. In his new show FUPC, Kev tackles political correctness head-on. His BS filters and brilliant comedic mind enables him to say it as he sees it, in a way we wish we all could. His directness totally embodies the spirit of Australian humour.

This show may contain language that some people find offensive
