Another amazing week of events in Hull, jam-packed full of live music and stand-up comedy. The legendary Sesh night, Women of Rock, The Smiths Ltd, Tom Grennan and chart-topping KSI are taking to the stage this week, all offering different flavours of live music in Hull.

If some stand-up comedy is what you’re feeling, then look no further than Andy Parsons at Hull Truck and ‘Heavy metal humorist’ Steve Hughes at the Polar Bear. If that’s not enough then we’ve got Rob Brydon at Hull New Theatre with a full live band regaling the audience with tales from his distant and recent past.

4. Andy Parsons: Healing The Nation

Friday 1st October (7:30 – 9:30 pm) @ Hull Truck Theatre

“I was in the middle of a UK Tour when theatres had to close due to lockdown – and the tour was called ‘Healing The Nation’ – so that title worked out well. It will turn out to be the longest Tour ever, taking 3 years to complete, & as the tour has gone on there’s been less and less healing and more and more of the opposite. Admittedly, I could have changed the title but it still seems strangely appropriate – and some of the gigs have been rescheduled so it would prove confusing to existing ticket holders if the ticket said “Healing The Nation” but the show was now called “My Life In Ballet”.

If you never saw The Smiths then this is your chance to experience the thrill of those great songs played live. If you were lucky enough to see them the first time around then prepare to relive that excitement again. Committed to getting the same energy that Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke, and Mike Joyce had onstage together, the band are obsessed with getting that live sound right.
