Top 13 events happening in Hull & East Yorkshire this July

It’s official, lockdown restrictions are due to end on 19th July. Just in time for some amazing events happening around Hull. We’ve picked out 13 events that you can’t miss this month, from record fairs, to live music, to comedy shows. It’s going to be one Hull of a month for all ages!

1. The Hull Record Fair

Saturday 24th July 2021 (Starts 10am) at Hull Minster

“With a wide range of LPs, CDs, DVDs, Limited Editions, Picture Disks, 7”, 10” and 12” records, there is no doubt you will either find that special item for yourself or to gift.”

Now that lockdown restrictions are being somewhat lifted, this awesome record fair is coming back to give all the vinyl junkies their fix. The event will bring UK collectors and sellers across the UK to the Hull minster in the city centre.

Entry is free so you won’t want to miss this events if you’re a fan of music and vinyl.

2. Westlife | Stadiums in the Summer

Saturday 10th July 2021 (6pm – 11pm) at Craven Park Stadium

“The Stadiums in the Summer Tour is an upcoming concert tour by Irish pop vocal group, Westlife. It was scheduled to begin on 17 June 2020 in Scarborough, England at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre and conclude on 29 August 2020 at Páirc Ui Chaoimh in Cork, Ireland, consisting of 22 shows in Europe.”

Irish Pop vocal group, Westlife, are set to arrive in Hull on the 10th of July to play a show packed full of classics and newer material at the Hull College Craven Park Stadium.

3. Hayseed Dixie

Wednesday 28th July 2021 (8:15pm – 11pm) at Cottingham Civic Hall

“A mostly satirical or absurdist nature in a self-created musical genre which the band calls “rockgrass.”

Hayseed Dixie are one of the most creative cover bands in recent years, smashing together bluegrass instruments and classic rock tunes to create rock grass. Their success is evident as they have released 16 studio albums and played live gigs in 31 countries since their creation in 2000.

4. Dragons and Mythical Beasts

Friday 30th July 2021 (starts 1.30pm & 4.30pm) at Hull New Theatre

“From the creators of the West End smash hit Dinosaur World Live, who bring spectacular puppets to life, don’t miss this brand new spell-binding adventure, live on stage!”

The creators of dinosaur world live are bringing a show packed full of amazing visuals and mythical beasts to the stage of Hull New theatre, to bring myth and legend to life before your eyes.

5. Festabubble

Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th July 2021 (times vary) at East Park

“With an array of kids entertainment, Clown circus workshop, Hilarious magic show and live music from two of the top UK tribute acts to Ariana Grande & JoJo Siwa, with their charismatic high energy, these performers will guarantee the family a great time!“

Festabubble is going to be an amazing opportunity to get back to some sort of normality with great selection of family friendly activities over 2 days in Hull’s well known east park.

6. Bubble Rush 2021

Saturday 17th July 2021 (Starts 10:30am) at East Park

“Bubble Rush is a 5k fun run with a difference – lots of coloured bubbles! Everyone’s welcome at Bubble Rush! Don’t worry if you’re not a runner; the event isn’t timed so you’re not racing against anyone and there’s no time limit. Run, walk, toddle or dance your way around the family-friendly course.“

Being one of the unique events you’ll see in Hull this year, no one will want to miss this. Bubble rush is partnered with local charities in the area so all the money raised will go to a good cause.

Support a local charity and have some fun by grabbing a ticket here and popping down to East Park with the family on the 17th.

7. Saturday Night Live

Saturday 10th July 2021 (7pm – 11pm) at Comedy Lounge

Be sure to head down to the Comedy Lounge in Hull city centre if you’re a fan of comedy, this Saturday night features four local comedians (Barry Dodds, MC Hammersmith, Russell Arathoon, and Phil Walker) and lots of laughs… so be ready to get back to some normality and hope you don’t laugh too much.

8. Creative Hull

Friday 16th July – Sunday 18th July (times vary) in Hull City Centre

“Over 60 different activities are confirmed, occupying existing venues, disused shops and buildings and outdoor spaces across the city, as well as online. With music, dance, cabaret, theatre, art exhibitions, window displays, workshops and more, there really is something for everyone.”

If you live in Hull and you love this place, you’re going to enjoy this event, celebrating everything fun and creative about the city and its people.

9. Fleetwood Mac Tribute Night with Go Your Own Way

Saturday 24th July 2021 (11am -3pm) in O’Rileys

“Formed in 2019 from talented and enthusiastic West Yorkshire based musicians to pay tribute to the music and artistry of Fleetwood Mac, “Go Your Own Way” are rapidly establishing themselves as a leading Fleetwood Mac tribute act. Vocally, Angela Naylor is the nearest thing to Stevie Nicks, other than Stevie Nicks herself and the musicians are able to replicate that Fleetwood Mac live sound of their 1970’s heyday.”

Any music lovers… and any fans of Fleetwood Mac will really want to head to this event and enjoy the music of the UK’s biggest bands in the 50+ years.

10. Jack’s Night Out

Friday 30th July (starts 7pm) at Comedy Lounge

“Jack’s Night Out with special guests, Barbara Nice as seen on Phoenix Nights & Britain’s Got Talent, Patrick Monahan as seen on Show Me the Funny & The One Show, and Carl Hutchinson from The Chris Ramsey Show, The One Show, & Stand Up Central”

11. Rising From the Deep: an Evening of Deep Purple & Rainbow

Saturday 31st July 2021 (7pm – 11pm) at O’Rileys

“O’Rileys is very happy to welcome Rising From The Deep to the venue for an evening of Deep Purple & Rainbow classic tunes.”

This one is for the die hard classic rock fans… Rising From The Deep will be playing show packed full of classics from Deep Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake.

12. The Bluejays: Rave On

Thursday 15th July 2021 (6pm – 9:15pm) at Hull Truck Theatre

“Rave On is the 1950’s & 60’s musical sensation sweeping the nation. Featuring multiple award winning band The Bluejays, a group comprised of stars from West End Productions The Buddy Holly Story, Million Dollar Quartet and Dreamboats & Petticoats, Rave On transports you back to the fabulous 50’s and the swinging 60’s in stunningly authentic style.”

13. CRISSY ROCK LIVE

Sunday 25th July 2021 (7pm – 11:45pm) at Comedy Lounge

“Crissy Rock is an actress and comedian from Liverpool. She notably played Janey in ITV’s Benidorm. She also appeared on the 11th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! , To have the Fantastic Steve Harris supporting Crissy is going to be one night you will remember.”
