It’s cash-only, like its neighbouring pizzeria, but this minor inconvenience hasn’t stopped people from lining up, especially when the weekend rolls around.

After overcoming the challenge of a devastating fire and a three-month hiatus, Fish & Chips @ Bethune Avenue has triumphantly reopened its doors to the West Hull community. This beloved local chippy is once again dishing out what many consider to be some of the best fish and chips in the area.
Our recent visit confirmed the rave reviews; we were treated to generous portions of perfectly cooked fish and patties, each encased in a delightfully light and crispy batter that was packed full of flavour.

You can’t talk about fish & chips in Hull without talking about Bob Carver’s. Beginning in 1888 when Bob Carver sold fish from a canvas stall in the cold open-air market, the chippy has been making the most of the city’s relationship with the sea for over a century.
The restaurant on Chapel Street is sadly the only one left in Hull after the pandemic, but is still going strong with its famous patties, and of course fish & chips.
