Ukrainian pets show their appreciation after huge donation from Hull business

Hundreds of shelter animals caught up in the war in Ukraine are being fed with food donated by a Hull firm.

GTS Logistics UK, based in Springfield Way, Anlaby, donated more than half a million trays of surplus dog and cat food to Beverley’s Jacob’s Well Appeal. The charity is distributing support across the Kherson and Kharkiv regions – some of the areas worst affected by the Russian invasion.

With many shelters unable to cope, volunteers from Krynitsia Jacoba, a Ukraine-based charity, have been sharing the food with our four-legged friends.

Ana McBride, who is originally from Crimea and is a Hull4Ukraine committee member, works as GTS’ finance manager and jumped at the chance to continue her support for her homeland. The first anniversary of the escalation of the conflict, in which Russia launched a full-scale invasion, was marked on 24th February.
