Essential works to improve Hull’s infrastructure continue this week.

A breakdown of planned works taking place across the city has been detailed below, including future works, so motorists can plan their journeys in advance.

As the city undergoes vital improvements to roads and transport infrastructure, motorists are advised to plan their journey before travelling using One.Network.

Resurfacing work on Priory Road starts on August 2, with an anticipated completion date of September 20. The work will take please in two phases and will see the street closed to all traffic other than emergency vehicles. Buses will be suspended and a diversion will be in place.

Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads, highways and flood prevention, said: “Many schools will be breaking up for their summer holidays this week, and we know that this means traffic will be lighter on the roads.

“We understand that roadworks can be frustrating for motorists, however these works are essential if we are to improve the city’s infrastructure for better and safer journeys in the future. We apologise for any inconvenience to drivers in the meantime.

“We are grateful to residents of Priory Road and, while we understand the inconvenience, their cooperation will help to ensure that the work is completed without delay and that these essential works are completed as quickly as possible.”

And as Hull City Council moves towards developing a more inclusive transport strategy which encourages a greener form of travel, the local authority wants to hear your views.

The council wants to know about issues on local roads, how you travel, why you choose your preferred mode of transport, and what, if anything, would make you change the way that you travel.

The survey can be access via the Hull City Council website.

Councillor Kirk said: “We want people who live, visit and travel around the city to share their views on how we develop plans to implement a more sustainable and accessible transport system for everyone, and the feedback you provide in this survey is absolutely critical to this.”

Motorists are advised to keep up-to-date with Stoneferry Corridor works download the Hello Travaux app on the App Store on Google Play.
