Digitally Different Photography Exhibition

Wednesday 19 Apr @ Hedon Museum

Hedon Viewfinder is currently presenting the Digitally Different FREE Photography Exhibition at the Hedon Museum!

Ray Duffill from the club, said: “I think it will be the best-ever exhibition staged by the club. The photographs are beautiful! They really reflect and represent the entire club with its full range of members and photographic interests.

Our youngest exhibitor is 13 years old and our oldest is in his 90’s. Photography really is for everyone,” continued Ray, “and the club exists to encourage people on their own photographic journeys of discovery.

In a world of groups, hierarchies and class systems, everyone’s trying so hard to fit in. What’s wrong with being a misfit? Be you, be proud!

From the caravan to the middle-class neighbourhood, it’s taken Monahan 4 decades to realise this. Enjoy Monahan’s stand-up observations on living his contemporary life alongside stories of his upbringing. As seen recently on BBC One’s The One Show, Loose Women ITV), and Asian Network (BBC).

Too Much World at Once

A lyrical, theatrical journey that spans continents and lives, Too Much World at Once is an urgent coming-of-age story for our times.

On his fifteenth birthday, Noble transforms into a bird. Thousands of miles away, his sister Cleo is stationed on a remote island with the British Antarctic Survey. The birds have disappeared. Noble needs to reach her. Lying low until it’s time to take flight, he finds solace in misfit Ellis while his mum Fiona desperately tries to stop their home from falling apart.

Beverley Vintage, Retro And Handmade Fair

Saturday 22 Apr @ Beverley Minster

Beverley Minster Vintage, Retro, and Handmade Fair returns for the Spring event on Saturday 22nd April 2023!

There will be around 70 exhibitors from across the region selling everything from 1940s clothes and accessories, to recycled furniture, collector’s items, and antiques, to handmade crafts and gifts.

Their resident vintage DJ, Murray, will once again be playing music from the era and there will also be live performances from Maggie Hush and the Boogie Bugle Babes, as well as dance demonstrations from our 1940s dancers.

Bowmen of St Mary’s Archery Taster Sessions

Saturday 22 Apr @ The Academy

Archery for all families! From ages 8 to 80, come and try archery with Bowmen of St Mary’s.

An hours archery, all equipment provided, and coaching given, £2.50 per person payable on the day, 2 sessions over two Saturdays beginning at 13:00 and 14:30.

No booking is required, just turn up at 13:00 or 14:30 to try archery, learn new skills, and kill some balloons!

This event is over 2 Saturdays 22nd April & 29th April.

Fresh from his sold-out, critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe run and becoming the most-viewed British comedian of all time on TikTok, world-famous prankster and Lee Nelson creator Simon Brodkin is back with an outrageous new stand-up show.

In ‘Screwed Up’ Simon rips into celebrity culture, social media, the police, Putin, Prince Andrew and Jesus. Nothing is off limits in this hilarious show, including his own mental health, his family, his five arrests and how he once found himself at an underground sex party.

Bouncers

Tuesday 25 Apr @ Hull Truck Theatre

The iconic and original Bouncers is back in town!

Join Les, Ralph, Judd and Lucky Eric as they relive a night in a Yorkshire disco in the 80s in this outrageous parody of Saturday Night Fever. All the gang are out on the town, the boys, the girls, the cheesy DJ, the late-night kebab man and the taxi home, all under the watchful eyes of the Bouncers.

Originally premiering at the Edinburgh Festival in 1977, Bouncers is still one of the most performed plays in the UK today. Don’t miss the classic comedy and northern favourite.
