Planned works to improve the poor condition of Cottingham Road will begin next week.
The scheme is taking place to improve the deteriorating road surface and specialists will also be investigating the sunken road surface at the junction with Cranbrook Avenue.
The work will start on Monday 24 May and take place in three phases in order to minimise any impact to traffic.
While each phase is being carried out, the two other phases will be open to allow traffic to flow up and down Cottingham Road.
The improvement scheme is expected to last up to four weeks.
In addition, work to upgrade traffic signals in Madeley Street and Rawlings Way will take place to improve traffic flow in the area as a result of the Highways England A63 project.
The works on Madeley Street near the roundabout will be done overnight when traffic levels are at the lowest to provide a safer working environment for the contractor, PBS Construction.
Lane closures will also be in place from 7.30pm – 6am the next day. There will not be a full road closure, therefore motorists will still have access.
The works on Rawlings Way will be completed during the day as there should be no carriageway incursion with the works taking place within the grass verge.
The work will take one week to complete.
