Zebfest is back – Hull’s free festival event for young people turns three

Hull’s free festival style event for ages 11 to 16 is back to kick off summer with a bang. Zebfest, which debuted in 2023, will take place in Zebedee’s Yard on Thursday July 24, 2.30-6.30pm. For no charge, young people will be able to enjoy live music, a silent disco, pizza making, a clothes swap, video set, smoothie bike, street art and so much more.

Zebfest is part of the Healthy Holidays Hull programme, which is providing the usual huge range of free sessions for school-aged children and young people throughout the long summer break.

The event is the perfect way for young people to celebrate the end of term, have fun and find out about all the other activities taking place right through to September. Tickets and booking are not required – just turn up and enjoy.

Cllr Linda Tock, Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People, Families and Learning, said: “Zebfest turns three this year and we’re delighted to be able to bring the event back again! It’s a great way for young people to start summer with an event designed with them and their interests in mind.

“It’s the perfect start to a whole summer of entertainment. Like other Healthy Holidays events and activities, Zebfest is free, open to everyone and includes food. Once young people are inside, all the activities are free too.

“It takes place right in the city centre and always has a brilliant atmosphere. It really is a taste of festival fun they can enjoy without parents or younger children.

“Zebfest is only the start of the summer fun. Young people have their own section on the Healthy Holidays website, where they can find dozens of activities, happening throughout the summer break. Everything is free, and sessions are available to view and book website now. Sessions are open to all and most include a nutritious food offer”.

Zebfest takes place Thursday July 24, Zebedee’s Yard, city centre, 2.30-6.30pm. All those aged 11 to 16 can attend – no need to book, just turn up. For more events for young people, as well as children, visit: www.healthyholidayshull.org.uk.
