3 Hull splash pads open for the Half Term

Families can splash into summer this weekend as three of the city’s water play areas open to the public.

East Park, Alderman Kneeshaw and West Park splash pads will be open from Saturday (25 May) every day through the half term and then at weekends 10am – 5pm. All are free to use.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure said: “Our water play areas are always incredibly popular, so we’re delighted to be opening a number of them this weekend, just in time for the long weekend and half-term holidays.

“Alongside these three splash pads, we’re also working on the refurbishment of Bude Park water play, which will be open for the public to enjoy this summer.”

Works are ongoing for a new splash pad at Bude Park which will provide a safer, more exciting and environmentally sustainable replacement to the existing facility which is no longer functional.

This will ensure local communities have free-to-access amenities on their doorsteps whilst contributing towards Hull City Council’s priorities of improving wider leisure options.

It also complements major improvement works currently underway for the football facilities at Bude Park, including installing new drainage and building a new pavilion.

Paddling pools at Ings Road, Oak Road and West Park are also scheduled to reopen in time for the summer holidays at the end of July.
