Iron Lilies is preparing to open its doors at the Princes Quay Shopping Centre, introducing a unique late-night bar and restaurant to Hull’s dynamic nightlife.
This new establishment is poised to transform a previously vacant space into a popular local haunt for both residents and visitors.
Situated in the former premises of the Virgin Megastore, which has been empty for a decade, Iron Lilies will capitalize on a strategic location within the shopping centre. The venue is being developed with a substantial £750,000 grant from the Levelling Up Fund, which aims to revitalize urban spaces and boost local economies.
Iron Lilies will feature a design that celebrates rustic and botanic elements, creating a visually appealing and inviting atmosphere. Large glass frontages are included in the design, ensuring the space is well-lit and feels open and airy.
The plans for the venue include an indoor garden-style water feature and an extensive outdoor terrace that offers views of the quay. The terrace is designed to be accessible via a new bridge and steps leading up from the quayside, enhancing the connectivity and appeal of the location.
While specific menu details are still under wraps, the venue will offer a variety of drinks and dining options suited for a late-night setting.
The development of Iron Lilies is expected to create 19 full-time jobs, contributing to the local employment opportunities. The project underscores a broader effort by the city to enhance Hull’s cultural and economic landscape, particularly in the evening.
Iron Lilies is expected to open later this year, with additional details to be announced closer to the launch date.
