Best Halloween events coming up in Hull & East Yorkshire

It’s finally the season for Halloween, and everyone is in the mood for pumpkins, sweets and scary movies! Whilst you’re waiting, here are some of the best Halloween events in the Hull and East Riding…

Fun Halloween Dog Show

Saturday 23 October, 1 PM – 4 PM

Cottingham Equestrian Centre, Park Lane, Cottingham

For all the dog lovers, this seasonal event will definitely be one for you! In the indoor arena of Cottingham Equestrian Centre, you can see some of the best dogs in the area. They are showcased in 14 different classes, including the final fancy dress category, which will definitely have some adorable Halloween costumes on some adorable dogs.

Halloween Trail

Saturday 23 October – Sunday 31 October, 11 AM – 4 PM

Burton Agnes Hall & Gardens, Rudston Road, Driffield

This October half term, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and architecture of Burton Agnes Hall, as well as go along on an eerie tour through the woodland. It will be full of handcrafted scenes full of freaky facts that will shock and delight you! There’s a hunt for Spooky Sacks in the woodland garden, and each child will enjoy a bumper trail sheet with activities to complete. Alongside the Halloween Trail, you can enjoy the woodland adventure playground with its nine fabulous swings, tower with corkscrew slide and double zip wire, and there will also be refreshments in the stableyard.

Tickets don’t come with an extra fee for the trail, so you can get them for the usual prices: Adults £8.00, Seniors £7.50, Children (4-15 years) £5.50, Under 4s free, and family tickets from £14.50. You can book them online.

Halloween Cinema- Hocus Pocus

Monday 25 October, 5 PM – 10.30 PM

Beverley Racecourse, York Road, Beverley

This much-loved Halloween film will be shown in the Outdoor Cinema at Beverley Racecourse, in a socially distant and safe screening. There will also be two showings, the first film starting at 6 PM and ending at 7.30 PM, and the alter showing (for those who want a really spooky experience) will start at 9 PM and end at 10.30 PM. Hocus Pocus tells the story of three witches who were inadvertently resurrected on Halloween night.

Tickets are £34.00 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 kids), £14.00 for an adult, £9.00 per child – £4.00 deposit will be required via eventbrite, the rest is due on the door should the event go ahead. They are available here.

Pumpkin Trail

Monday 25 October – Sunday 31 October, 5 PM

Burton Constable Hall and Grounds, Skirlaugh, Hull

The beautiful ground of Burton Constable have been riddled with horrid monsters this Halloween, as you try and discover all of the hidden pumpkin patches. Each discovery comes with a secret letter, which will help you uncover the magic word to get yourself a delicious Halloween goodie bag!

Halloween at the Hall

Monday 25 October – Sunday 31 October, 6.15 PM – 8.15 PM

Burton Constable Hall, Skirlaugh, Hull

As well as the spectacularly spooky Pumpkin Trail, Burton Constable Hall also has a wider range of events celebrating Halloween this October half term. This includes the tour of the Hall, where the tour guides give you all the scariest stories Burton Constable has to offer in their Ghost Stories event. You can also have another game at hunting objects, as their Witches Hat Hunt has witches’ hats hidden all around the Hall. There is also the Creepy Crafts workshop, which will be a fun way to be creative. You can also indulge in your favourite Halloween tales in the Spooky Story Telling session. To end it all, they have a How to Draw Spooky Stuff workshop with the artist Calvin Innes. Overall, there’s something for everyone!

Halloween Sounding Special with Music Laura

Thursday 28 October, 10.30 AM – 11.30 PM

Hull Truck Theatre, 50 Ferensway, Hull

This event is brought by Special Stars Foundation, which is a fantastic local charity organisation that wants children with SEND to be able to go to inclusive and accessible recreational events. Sounding Special is one of those events, adnd it will be a fun and child-friendly way to celebrate Halloween for children of all ages and abilities. It is led by the musical talent Laura, and everyone attending is encouraged to wear their Halloween costume!

ATIK Fridays- Carnival of the Dead

Friday 29 October – Monday 1 November, 10 PM – 3.30 AM

ATIK, Dagger Lane, Hull

ATIK is an incredibly popular bar and club in Hull, and its Halloween parties are always the highlight of October. Dress up for this fully themed night out in the Carnival of the Dead, and enjoy yourself with the festival-level sound and production, along with an array of performers and the very best DJs and dancers. These nights are going to be the height of your Halloween!

Over 18s only.

Full Moon Party

Saturday 30 October, 9 PM – Sunday 31 October, 6 AM

The Old School House and Court Yard, Malton Street, Hull

The Old School House is bringing you it’s very own Halloween party this October! Join them at their venue with the very best music, drinks and party atmosphere all night. Although it’s based in an old 18th century schoolyard and court house, TOSH is the best place in Hull for underground music. The only dress code is no sportswear or caps, so you don’t even need a costume.

Halloween Safari

Saturday 30 October, 6.30 PM- 10 PM

Discovery Centre, Spurn Road, Hull

This isn’t the most typical way to celebrate Halloween, but it definitely will be a fun one! Join the Spurn Safari on a three and a half hour journey exploring the nature reserves at night. You may discover some ghostly tales and unexplainable happenings that will make for an eerie adventure through the animal kingdom.

Tickets for children are £10.00 and for adults it’s £22.00, which you can book on their website.

Halloween Adventure Golf

Sat 30 & Sun 31 October

This Halloween, head to Lost City for lots of treats and maybe a few tricks…

The Tiki Bar will be serving up some frightfully delicious additions to the menu including freshly made Toffee Apple Waffles and Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Those brave enough (and old enough) can try our Witches Brew cocktails or the Poisoned Apple mocktail.

Dress to impress on Halloween weekend! On the 30th and 31st of October, impress us with your fancy dress for free entry. Only the finest costumes will be rewarded so dust off your best outfit and join us for some spook-tacular fun!
