Pumpkin picking season is now underway at Butt Farm in Beverley, with the much-loved patch open on selected dates from Saturday 27th September to Friday 31st October 2025.
This much-loved family-run patch is based on the White family’s working farm just outside Beverley, where every single pumpkin is planted and grown in the very field you’ll be picking from. The whole family plays a part – brothers Oly and CJ run the farm alongside Phil, with wives Jen, Becca and Annette, mum Pam and niece Millie all helping out. Close friends and extended family also give up their weekends in October to make the experience possible.
The patch is three times bigger than last year, with around 30,000 homegrown pumpkins ready to pick in all shapes, sizes and colours. Entry is free, with visitors invited to make a voluntary donation to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and there’s no need to pre-book unless you’re attending one of the dedicated dog-friendly or specialist sessions.

It will be open 10am to 4pm on the following dates: 3rd – 5th October, 10th – 13th October, 17th – 20th October, and daily from 24th – 31st October during half-term. Alongside the pumpkin picking, visitors can follow the spooky trail for a chance to win a glamping weekend, enjoy plenty of autumnal photo opportunities, and take part in free pumpkin carving and crafting sessions during half-term.
There’s free parking, toilets, face painting (weekends and half-term), pumpkin carving kits for sale, and hot and cold drinks with locally sourced refreshments. Both cash and card are accepted, and we’ve partnered with them to give you a FREE mini pumpkin when you spend £10 or more – just mention Hull WhatsOn! During the final two weekends of October, Flip N Bun will also be on-site serving delicious food.

For dog owners, Butt Farm remains the only pumpkin patch in the region to run dedicated Howloween pumpkin picking sessions – held every Friday and Sunday evening between 28th September and 12th October (4–6pm). These ticketed events, available online, include pop-up dog stalls from Oh My Dog, activity areas, agility courses, and themed photo opportunities. Tickets can be booked online here: https://www.ticketebo.co.uk/butt-farm-pumpkin-patch.

New for 2025, Butt Farm is also offering pumpkin picking sessions designed for individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These sessions aim to create a calmer, more comfortable environment by limiting visitor numbers, and each ticket price is redeemable against pumpkin purchases. One parent or carer is included with each ticket, and additional family members are welcome.
SEND sessions:
- Saturday 11th October – 9–10am
- Saturday 18th October – 9–10am
- Tuesday 28th October – 4–5pm
Tickets for SEND sessions can be booked online: https://www.ticketebo.co.uk/butt-farm-pumpkin-patch
Butt Farm also works with local schools and community groups, hosting educational visits where children can learn how pumpkins are grown before picking and carving one to take home.
With thousands of pumpkins, a spooky trail, dog-friendly sessions, SEND mornings, and even the chance to win a glamping getaway, Butt Farm Pumpkin Patch is shaping up to be one of the most exciting autumn days out in East Yorkshire this year.
