Chop & Change is returning to Hull with a live hospitality showcase at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull on Wednesday 28 January, running from 12pm to 2pm.
The event celebrates inclusive employment, skills development, and the power of local partnerships. Chop & Change is a Hull-based social enterprise that supports young people with severe learning difficulties, helping them access real work, real environments, and genuine opportunities within professional settings.
Hosted inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull, the showcase places students into a live hospitality environment where they take part in food preparation, service, and front-of-house activity, supported by experienced industry professionals. Guests attending the event will experience high-quality hospitality while seeing first-hand how inclusive practice strengthens teams and communities.
The event reflects Chop & Change’s core ethos of raising expectations, removing barriers, and creating clear pathways into paid employment. It also demonstrates how local businesses can deliver meaningful social value while investing in future talent.
In December, Chop & Change marked the festive season with a Christmas dinner service at The Deep, where young people with severe learning difficulties delivered a full three-course lunch in a live hospitality setting. Supported by hospitality professionals, volunteers, and local partners, the event welcomed 50 guests and raised £1,000 to be reinvested into the programme, further demonstrating the impact of inclusive, real-world hospitality experiences.
As Chop & Change continues to grow its network across Hull and the Humber, the project continues to show that, with the right structure and support, young people with complex needs can thrive in demanding, professional environments.
