Hull residents can look forward to a new Dunkin’ Donuts store opening at Kingswood Leisure Park next month. The popular American coffee and doughnut chain is taking over the former location of the closed Frankie and Benny’s diner and will be joined by another well-known American brand, Taco Bell.
Previously, fans of Dunkin’ Donuts in Hull had to travel to Leeds or Sheffield to satisfy their cravings, but that’s about to change. Signs have been put up at the new location in preparation for its opening on Wednesday, April 5, and customers will be able to enjoy dining in or takeaway service.
According to the original planning application, Taco Bell is expected to employ a total of 30 staff, while Dunkin’ Donuts will employ 15 staff.
Dunkin’ Donuts is a global chain, with over 20 branches across the UK and a presence in 46 countries worldwide. Its founder, William Rosenberg, started the business in Massachusetts in 1950 after noticing people’s love of dunking their doughnuts in coffee. Today, Dunkin’ Donuts serves millions of customers daily with its signature doughnuts, hot and cold coffee, and iced teas.
At the Hull location, customers will be able to indulge in a range of iconic doughnuts, such as the Mr Happy, Original Glazed, Boston Creme, and Strawberry Rainbow. The store will be staffed by six full-time and nine part-time employees, who are excited to welcome customers and continue Dunkin’ Donuts’ legacy of serving quality coffee and doughnuts.
