♀️ Anglo-Saxon women played an unusually large role in the private and public life of England. Female tradition in England was vastly different to the trends on the continent, and many of their traits and features are romanticized and held fondly today. ♀️
Thankfully, we have an Anglo-Saxon historian on hand to tell us just how interesting these Medieval women were.
Kay Godfrey, ‘The Blind Historian’, hosts this edition of the Minster Lunchtime Heritage Talks, where she will explore and uncover the unique female tradition present in England before the arrival of the Normans in 1066.
The talks are free entry, so please feel free to join at any time in the Minster chancel.
Viewable Online! Look out for us on Facebook Live 5 minutes before the talk!
