Hull Fair, one of Hull’s most exciting annual events, returns to Walton Street from Friday 4th October to Saturday 12th October 2024, bringing over 250 rides, food stalls, and entertainment for all ages. Opening at 5pm on Friday 4th with a parade led by the Lord Mayor, the fair will run until 11pm each night, with opening times of 12 noon on Saturdays and 2pm on all other days. It will be closed on Sunday 6th October.
Expect adrenaline-pumping rides like Air Raid and the UK’s tallest bungee jump, alongside fairground classics such as waltzers and funhouses. Younger visitors will enjoy sideshows and games, while food stalls offer treats from footlong fries to bubble tea.
Hull Fair’s roots stretch back to 1279, and it remains one of Europe’s largest travelling fairs. Traditionally incorporating October 11th, the fair honours its history and continues to draw thousands of visitors each year.
Temporary road closures will be in place around Walton Street, starting from the Wednesday before the fair’s opening and lasting until the Sunday after it closes. Please plan accordingly if you’re driving into the city, as delays and congestion are expected.
To avoid traffic, visitors are encouraged to use the Hull Park and Ride from Priory Park (postcode: HU4 7DY), which usually drops people off just before the Anlaby Road entrance to Walton Street.
While ride prices vary, big increases are not expected, meaning you can enjoy Hull Fair even on a budget. Many come just to take in the atmosphere, sights, and sounds, making it an event that truly offers something for everyone. Don’t miss out on one of Hull’s most defining traditions this year!
