About Scareoween 2023

A frighteningly good night at Sewerby Hall and Gardens!
A brand new event
Be prepared to be scared at our first-ever scare attraction event ‘Scareoween’ this Halloween.

Set inside the historic hall, this walk-through scare attraction is an experience for brave families, friends and those who dare to enter. With live performers and special effects to immerse you in a living ghost story…
What’s the story?
Inspired by local history, Scareoween will present a fictitious story set in the Victorian heyday of Spiritualism and the supernatural.

Experience an immersive story with the live scareactors, lighting and sound which will transform the hall and transport you into a ghostly adventure.
What to expect
Guests will enter the experience in a small group to explore the darkened interiors of the Hall and encounter a hoard of characters and scares as the story comes to life.

Guests will enter the house through the Orangery at their allotted time and will travel through each room where the scareactors will be waiting to unfold their ghostly tale along with some thrills and scares along the way.

The house experience will last approximately 20 minutes.

For those who dare to hang around, the spookiness will continue with Eerie Tales in the Courtyard, performed by Spotlight Theatre, where guests will also be able to grab frighteningly good refreshments from the Clock Tower Café, to watch, listen and be prepared to be entertained!

The production has been designed and produced by AtmosFEAR! Scare Entertainment, Europe’s biggest scare entertainment company.
