Sewerby Hall & Gardens has brought back its hugely popular Winter Woodland from now until the 23rd December 2025, with a brand-new theme and its biggest festive experience yet. Now in its fifth year, the trail has become one of the region’s most anticipated Christmas events, drawing thousands of families to the clifftop attraction each winter.
This year’s theme, The Snowman’s Ball, transforms the grounds into an immersive storybook trail following the Snowman as he prepares for his big celebration. Visitors can expect twinkling lights, festive scenes and interactive moments throughout the woodland, with appearances from the Woodcutter, the Snow Fairy and the Sewerby Snowman himself.
Returning favourites include Candy Cane Lane, the giant bauble and the much-loved light tunnel, alongside an expanded Pleasure Gardens experience featuring a new interactive light show and cheerful festive characters. A large walk-in snow globe will make its debut for 2025, offering a fun new photo opportunity for families.
Inside the house, guests can explore The Snowman: International Icon of Winter, an exhibition tracing the history of the snowman from medieval manuscripts to modern popular culture. Additional festive activities and a themed trail are included.
Food and drink will be available across the site until 9pm, with options from the Clock Tower Café, Stables Pizza Company, Greek Treat and Peaky Grinders, plus a licensed bar in the courtyard marquee. Toasted marshmallows and refreshments will also be available along the route.
Timed entry slots are available each evening between 4.30pm and 6:50pm, with relaxed performances taking place on 11 and 18 December for visitors with sensory needs.
