Whilst it’s only been four months, it feels like a lifetime without the cinema. Slowly but surely, East Yorkshire cinemas are reopening, and the joy of movies is returning. Even though many films that were due to release have been rescheduled, there’s still a ton of great movies to watch at your local cinema throughout August.
There’s family classics, cult favourites, some newer hits, and even some guilty pleasures thrown in for good measure.

Parkway Cinema, Beverley

Parkway Cinema is open and offering a range of classic films and theatre recordings with a number of new films including Tenet on the horizon. There are some incredible classic films on offer such as Inception, Double Indemnity and Harry Potter. Social distancing measures, protective screens, hand sanitising stations and other safety measures are in place throughout the cinema.

Cineworld, Kingswood

Cineworld is set to reopen on July 31st with social distancing and safety measures in place and arguably has the best films on offer out of all the East Yorkshire cinemas. The chain is aiming to open with a bang and has provided a stellar list of both new and classic offerings including Proxima, Babyteeth, Tenet, the Back to The Future trilogy, Blade Runner, Labyrinth, Dark Waters and so much more.

ODEON Luxe, Hull Kingston Retail Park

From Friday the 31st of July, ODEON Luxe is reopening so you enjoy the extra legroom, reclining seats and surround-sound in line with social distancing and safety measures. The cinema is showing a myriad of highly-rated films including Black Panther, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings so it’s well worth a visit.
