This Easter, school-age children and young people living in Hull have a packed schedule of completely free activities to look forward to.
With the weather warming up and the days getting lighter, there are plenty of opportunities to make the most of the outdoors and get active – as well as a wealth of indoor fun.
Healthy Holidays has become a school holiday staple, offering an exciting variety of sessions, with nutritious food included. All are welcome to attend, and activities on offer include a full SEND programme, a range of sports, outdoor education, go-karting, street dance and musical theatre, cooking sessions, football, arts and crafts and more.
Rachel Roberts, strategic lead for Early Help and Intervention at Hull City Council, said: “I hope all parents and carers as well as young people themselves will take the opportunity to have a look at the Healthy Holidays Hull website, and find some activities to suit them. Some require booking, others you can just turn up to, and there really is something to suit everyone.
“Whether children and young people want to get outside, be active, play sports or flex their creative muscles with art, theatre or dance, there’s something in the programme to make them happy.
“As always, everything is free, almost all sessions include a nutritional food offer, and everyone can participate provided they are school-aged.
“Healthy Holidays is an invaluable programme, which means every family has opportunities to enjoy activities throughout the school holidays, without having to worry about finding the money. Parents also have the assurance that their children and young people are getting nutritious food while they’re there”.
Healthy Holidays runs from Monday 7 April throughout the school holidays.
