But don’t worry, we’ve got your back! We and Hull & East Riding Mumbler have curated an excellent selection of local events (with many free options too), ideal for any family on the lookout for entertaining and enlightening experiences this February half-term. Step into the serene world of Sewerby Hall & Gardens, where admission to the grounds and gardens is absolutely free until Friday 22 March 2024! While charges apply for the zoo and house, the expansive gardens offer a peaceful retreat where children can run free and explore nature’s beauty.

Hull Museums’ Crafts and Activities

Hull Museums are a treasure trove of activities this half term, with a lineup of free crafts and events at Streetlife Museum, Hull & East Riding Museum, and Ferens Art Gallery. Whether it’s creating mini masterpieces or exploring history through crafts, these sessions are perfect for families looking to add a touch of creativity to their week.
- 12th February, 1-3pm: Mini-Shop Making, Streetlife Museum. Make you own mini-model shop inspired by the shops in the Streetlife Museum. Free, drop-in
- 13th February, 1-3pm: Mini Masterpieces, Ferens Art Gallery. Art activities for children aged 5 and under and their families, inspired by the amazing artworks in Ferens Art Gallery. Older siblings are welcome. Free, drop-in.
- 14th February, 10am-11am, 11am-12pm: Relaxed Family Craft session, Hull and East Riding Museum. Family craft session designed for children who are neurodivergent, have a disability or experience anxiety, in a quieter environment with limited numbers. Free, booking essential here.
- 14th February, 1-3pm: Terrific Tiles, Hull and East Riding Museum. Decorate your own tile to take home inspired by the historic collections. Free drop-in.
- 15th February, 10am-11am, 11.30am-12.30pm: Dinosaur Explorers, Hull and East Riding Museum. Under 5s Session with Edens Baby Experiences, a fun dinosaur and fossil-themed sensory activity session, Free, booking is essential here.
- 16th February, 1-3pm: Picture This, Ferens Art Gallery. Create your own picture frame for a favourite photo or drawing. Free, drop-in.
Jorvik Viking Festival, York

Kids Takeover Half-Term Camps Hull

A Great Pirate Adventure: Features an arts and crafts session followed by an interactive play that uses whatever you have made. All adventurers are encouraged to come dressed up as pirates!
