There’s a brilliant high ropes course just outside the centre of Bridlington that not many people seem to know about yet — but it’s well worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for something active to do with the kids during the school holidays.
The Edge Aerial Adventure is tucked away inside South Cliff Holiday Park and offers two different rope courses to tackle – a high ropes and a low ropes.
And you don’t have to be staying at the holiday park to take part. It’s open to everyone, and you can just book a session online, park up at the nearby park and ride, and enjoy a fun hour up in the air.
We visited as a family, and while our two girls couldn’t wait to get started, I somehow ended up being the one joining them in the harness while mum got to relax on solid ground with a hot drink in hand!

We chose to do the low ropes, which are still a decent 20ft up — and they definitely put our balance to the test. The toughest part? The tightrope-style single wire. As a 6ft 3 dad, I was definitely questioning my bravery… especially when I ended up holding up a lad behind me who made it look like an absolute doddle!
If you’ve got younger ones who aren’t quite big enough to join in yet, there’s a brilliant children’s play area right next to the ropes course with its own zip line, so they won’t be left out.
And after all that climbing and wobbling, we couldn’t resist grabbing something from Spa on the Go – a little snack van next to the course serving hot drinks and freshly made cakes and pastries from Bridlington Spa’s café. It was a chilly day when we visited, but the hot chocolate and warm pastries properly hit the spot.
We had loads of fun and we’re already planning to head back — next time, to take on the high ropes!
We visited during the Easter holidays, but The Edge Aerial Adventure is open on weekends and bank holidays during term time and open daily during school holidays from 10am to 6pm, with the last booking at 5pm. It costs £18 per person for a one-hour session, and the minimum height is 1.2 metres.
You don’t need to be staying at the holiday park – it’s completely open to everyone, and really easy to get to via the nearby Park & Ride.
You’ll find it at South Cliff Holiday Park, Bridlington, YO15 3QN. You can find full details and book your session online at edgeaerialadventure.co.uk.
