Previous Lord Mayor, Councillor Lynn Petrini has presented more than £12,000 to her chosen charities.

During her year as Lord Mayor, £12,106.40, was collected, which has been shared between her nominated charities.

Hull Help for Refugees will be using the money to support refugees who have lost almost everything through war and conflict. The team have passed on a ‘huge thank you’ to the Lord Mayor and the ‘amazingly generous people’ of Hull and the local region.

City of Hull Street Angels will be using the money to enable the charity to continue supporting the citizens of Hull and the night time economy. It will replenish stocks so that they can provide the service that the City Angels give every weekend. The purchase of a defibrillator, accessible to all, is top of the purchase list.

The Trustees and volunteers of the City of Hull Street Angels said they owed a ‘huge gratitude’ to the Lord Mayor and her consort for the wonderful support given to them during the past 18 months.

Councillor Lynn Petrini said: “I would like to thank all the members of the Charity Committee for their hard work in helping to raise the money.”
