Have your say on how Hull City Council is doing

Everyone in Hull is invited to have their say on how well Hull City Council is doing on delivering for the city. In 2023 the residents of Hull were asked about their ambitions and aspirations for themselves, their neighbourhoods and the city. Thousands took part and the answers people gave were used to create the Community Plan, and accompanying Council Plan. The community Plan sets out what the ambitions and aspirations are for the city, while the Council Plan explains how they will be delivered.

Now, a follow-up survey is asking the local community what progress they believe the council is making in delivering residents’ ambitions. The results will provide a benchmark and help understand what people’s priorities are. As with the Community Plan and Council Plan, questions are focussed on the three themes of ‘our lives, our streets, our city’ – looking at how people feel as individuals, as part of their communities, and about Hull.

The questions only take a few minutes to answer and responses are given using tick-boxes or sliders. There is no need to provide any identifying personal details to take part.

Cllr Ross, Leader of Hull City Council, said: “We have always been clear that one of our priorities as a council leadership is listening. The Community Plan is the outcome of asking local people about their priorities and ambitions. Together with the council plan, it acts as a mission statement for what we will do, working with the local community, over the next decade and how we will do it.

“It’s important that now we have these ambitions in place, we continue to listen. We want to know whether people think we are achieving them, and whether people feel life in Hull is broadly improving, staying the same, or getting more difficult.

“It will also ensure we’re continuing to focus on the right priorities, as we understand these can change over time”.

Every person who completes the survey has the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win £250 in shopping vouchers.
