The Invest Hull team at Hull City Council will be attending the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) to promote the array of opportunities available to investors in the city.

The team will also be hosting a presentation on day one of the three-day show, alongside support from local businesses.

The UKREiiF is an event that aims to connect people, places and businesses to accelerate the Levelling Up Agenda, whilst unlocking sustainable, inclusive and transformational investment across the UK. It brings together the public sector – with every core UK city and region involved – alongside government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders and more.

Invest Hull is dedicated to attracting new investment to the city. Their focus has drawn over £3.5billion of investment over the last decade with Siemens Gamesa, Reckitt and the University of Hull investing £750m in the city.

Invest Hull will be showcasing the very best of Hull and letting local partners show why Hull is the place to invest. From the new Freeport to major city centre investment, through to its talent and creativity, Hull has something to capture everyone’s interest and is a city that places the environment and clean energy at the centre. Hull is at the core of the UK Energy Strategy as a centre for offshore wind and with Equinor’s recent announcement, an emerging centre for hydrogen.

The Invest Hull session will bring together the Invest Hull Team and a number of business leaders who have chosen to locate or invest in the city. Through a panel discussion and short presentations, the session will shine a light on why to invest in Hull now.

Alex Codd, Assistant Director of Economic Development and Regeneration at Hull City Council said: “Hull is the home of offshore wind and has witnessed in excess of £0.5bn of investment into state-of-the-art facilities. The Invest Hull team and partners will outline the next chapter in the story with the emergence of the Humber Freeport.

Dominic Gibbons, Managing Director of leading commercial property developer Wykeland Group, said: “We’re delighted to be part of the team promoting Hull at the UKREiiF event.

“Hull is a city with a supportive investment environment, a capable and hard-working workforce, a can-do attitude and so many opportunities for growth.”

Jeremy Seymore, Director at Hammonds of Hull said: “The passion and creativity of the local business community in Hull both from both the private and public sector gave the owners of Hammonds of Hull the confidence and determination to repurpose this iconic landmark building with a high-quality retail, food and beverage and office space.”

The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum is taking place from Tuesday 17 May – Thursday 19 May at the Royal Armouries Leeds and Leeds Dock. To find out more, visit www.ukreiif.com.
