We tried the delicious new deli in Hull’s Paragon Arcade

An exciting new deli opened its doors in Hull’s bustling Paragon Arcade on Friday 1 March, offering mouthwatering artisan sandwiches, tasty salads, infamous homemade Yorkshire sausage rolls and irresistible sweet treats – so we went along to have a try!

We had a try of some of the most popular options, starting with the 3 cheese melt panini. With red onion chutney giving it a sweet taste alongside the melty, stringy cheese, it was absolutely amazing! We also tried the Ultimate Breakfast Wrap as well as a “Grubb and go” sandwich which allows you to choose the ingredients yourself as part of a meal deal.

We had to try their homemade sausage rolls too! Both the plain and spicy versions were incredible, just like their delectable chocolate brownies, which were rich and delicious. Sadly, we couldn’t try everything but there’s plenty more on the menu from Pizza Roll and caramelised onion sausage rolls, to rocky road and raspberry & white chocolate blondies.

Led by Yorkshire food enthusiast, Rhys Duerden scours the county in search of great food and exceptional food producers, allowing customers to taste the finest flavours Yorkshire has to offer. His approach has already gained Grubb a loyal following among customers, recently marking the successful 4th anniversary of its Brough shop.

Creating 5 new jobs, Grubb is the freshest addition to Paragon Arcade, which has become renowned for supporting independent businesses and being one of the best places for food in Hull. Grubb joins Stretch Pizza, Milchig offering amazing brunch, Salt and Pepper Club dishing up Chinese street food, complementing the Asian flavours served up by Oishii Ne.

Customers of the new Paragon deli can grab a “Grubb and Go” meal deal, featuring the same high-quality homemade, locally-sourced ingredients found in their ‘build your own’ artisan sandwiches and paninis.

You can also pick up Grubb’s Yorkshire sausage rolls, which have built up a fan base of their own from the Brough shop! With Brownies, Biscoff fudge bars. vegan flapjacks and freshly filtered coffee on the menu, there should be something to tempt everyone.

Grubb first opened in Brough in January 2020, just 12 weeks before lockdown. Undeterred, Rhys pivoted the business to offer gourmet meal deliveries and picnics, surviving two lockdowns.

Fast forward to 2024, the Grubb team have celebrated four years of serving their culinary delights to customers in Brough and are ready to welcome customers in Hull’s Paragon Arcade.

Grubb at Paragon Arcade is open seven days a week, from Friday 1 March. You can find out what’s on offer and pre-order online at www.goodeats.io/Grubb-Paragon
