Neal, selected during a Full Council meeting on Thursday, May 18, will succeed the incumbent Lord Mayor, Councillor Christine Randall. A noteworthy part of the ceremony will witness Councillor Randall pass on the Lord Mayor’s chain, a traditional symbol of mayoral authority, to Councillor Neal. This exchange marks the formal transition of power and underscores Hull’s deep-rooted respect for its heritage.
