Upstairs at Jack in the Box in Beverley, you’ll find something really special – a huge and beautifully designed mini village where kids can step into all kinds of roles and get lost in their imagination.
It’s the biggest roleplay centre in Yorkshire with 14 different areas to explore, and the level of detail in each one is really impressive. It was awarded Best Role Play Centre in the UK last year too, and you can easily see why.
There’s a hospital where they can check patients’ temperatures, a supermarket with trolleys, a scale and checkouts, a café with a full kitchen, a hair salon, a building site, and even an ice cream van. Every space is interactive and hands-on, so kids can really get stuck in and take charge.

One of our favourites is the post office – there are loads of letters and parcels to be delivered around the village, each business having its own little mailbox.
Each child also gets their own Mini Village credit card, which they can use at tills and card machines dotted around – and they get to take it home afterwards. It’s a lovely touch that adds to the fun, and the kids absolutely love it.
It’s ideal for toddlers through to primary school age – if they love pretend play, they’ll be in their element here. And for parents, there’s a spacious seating area to relax with a tasty snack and a proper barista coffee while the kids explore.
Jack’s Mini Village is located on the first floor above Jack in the Box Soft Play (separate booking required, though combi tickets are available). It’s open 7 days a week, and online booking is essential to guarantee entry.
You’ll find their address, map, opening times and how to book here.
