A new series of export case studies have been launched by the new Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP), which will help highlight the benefits of international trade through export to SMEs and the wider community.

Part of the overall HEY Export! Campaign, the videos feature interviews with regional business figures, including Export Champion and Managing Director of Hessle based Agencia, Helen Gibson, and Pauline Wade, Director of International Trade at Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.

The Hull and East Yorkshire region is already home to a thriving exporting community and the HEY LEP is keen to engage further with businesses across all sectors, as it develops an export plan for the region.

The campaign highlights different kinds of opportunities for different kinds of businesses – whether an SME or a larger business, whether producing goods or offering services, there are a wealth of opportunities for our region’s businesses to reach new markets and customers by exporting.

As part of the HEY Export! Campaign, HEY LEP and Business Growth Hub will be hosting an event on Wednesday 9th June at Humber Business Week 2021, HEY Go Global! This will showcase our region as an area open to inward investment and a great area for businesses to invest in, grow and export, and will feature an opening address from James Newman OBE, HEY LEP Chair, as well as presentations and panel discussion from Antonio Tombanane, Tech Week Humber, Chris Williams, Chatta, and Alex West, VISR.

Andrew Finch, Export Partnerships Manager at HEY LEP, said: “Awareness and engagement are key strands of the export plan and our export case study videos help demonstrate why more businesses across the region should now consider exporting, as the UK embarks upon a new chapter as an independent trading nation.”

The HEY LEP will look to work closely, in future months, with a range of key partners and business support organisations such as the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce and the Department for International Trade, as the export plan comes to fruition.

A series of further case studies will be published over the coming weeks by a series of regional organisations including University of Hull, Boston Energy Group, and Tech Week Humber.
