This jaw-dropping tomahawk, lamb chops and more are hiding at this restaurant in West Hull – and there’s way more on the menu too.
Lounge Bar & Grill in Kirk Ella is run by the same family behind Newland Steakhouse, and they took over this spot to bring something fresh to the area. They stripped it right back and rebuilt the whole place with local trades, turning it into a modern, relaxed space that suits the food perfectly.
We started with the crispy calamari and king prawns – both solid choices that set us up nicely for the main event: that massive tomahawk steak. It’s a proper showpiece, full of savoury flavour with just the right amount of fat, and the three sauces it comes with pair brilliantly with the meat. The lamb chops were spot-on too, and the seafood platter with sea bass is a strong option if you want something lighter but still full of flavour. Even the Mediterranean salad surprised us – loads of feta, freshness, and a great shout if you’re keeping it lighter.
For dessert we went for the chocolate fudge cake and the salted caramel cheesecake (the cheesecake especially went down well), plus a couple of cocktails and a coffee and tea to finish everything off.
They’ve also got lunch specials, bottomless brunch, live music every Friday, and if you pop in between 12pm and 2pm and show this vid, you’ll get 10% off your bill until 31 November.
