If you love supporting local creatives and discovering something a bit different, you’ll love this.
Tucked away on Market Hill in Hedon, Made It Studio is a beautiful little shop filled with handmade gifts, homeware, jewellery, sweets, plants, candles – you name it. Everything inside is made by over 40 local artists and makers, all brought together by owner Hannah, who started out running her own stall at local markets. After spotting an empty shop in town, she thought “…why not?” – and the rest is history.
Since opening its doors in March 2023, it’s become a proper part of the community. Locals have called it a godsend for finding thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts without having to trek into the city centre, and it’s the sort of place you always find something you didn’t know you needed.
Hannah also runs Made It Markets, hosting regular events at Alexandra Hall in Hedon and a brand-new location at Fort Paull. There’s also permanent welded jewellery available in-store, and from autumn they’re restarting their hands-on creative workshops, with pottery, floristry, lino printing and more.
Made It Studio is a lovely example of how creative businesses can breathe new life into the high street – and a great way to shop local while finding something genuinely unique.
