It might take place in a proper CrossFit gym, but these sessions aren’t about lifting heavy weights or chasing personal bests. MOVE Humber is a different kind of fitness programme – one built on the principles of CrossFit, but designed specifically to help people move better, feel stronger, and live more independently.
The sessions are all about functional fitness – things like improving balance, building confidence getting up from a chair, or learning how to lift something safely. It’s designed for people who are often overlooked by traditional fitness models, including older adults, those recovering from illness or injury, or people with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s.
Led by fully qualified and supportive coaches, each session is adapted to individual needs. There’s no pressure, no egos – just a welcoming and encouraging environment where progress happens at your own pace. For many, it’s not just about getting stronger physically; it’s about feeling more connected, regaining independence, and taking positive steps towards better health.
MOVE Humber currently runs sessions at CrossFit Hull in Sutton Fields and CrossFit Humber in Anlaby, and the results so far have been genuinely life-changing for the people taking part.
Sessions run Monday to Friday at both venues, with morning and early afternoon classes available.
