If you’re on the lookout for somewhere new to grab a coffee, a hearty breakfast or just a slice of cake, these three cafés in and around Hull are well worth a visit. Each one brings something a little different, whether it’s lakeside views, creative lattes or homely brunch favourites.

Back in the city centre, Daze Coffee House on Ferensway has quickly become a favourite for coffee lovers. The modern, airy interior is as inviting as the menu, which features locally roasted coffee and a line-up of unique lattes you won’t find elsewhere – think pink chai, golden chai, and even a mango & coconut matcha. Add in crisp salads, fresh toasties and cakes supplied by some of Hull’s best bakers, and you’ve got a stylish new café that feels right at home in the heart of town.
And over in Kingswood, Esca Bistro is proving that great brunch doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Run by a local mother-and-daughter duo, it’s a welcoming spot serving smashed avo on sourdough, full breakfasts, ciabattas, smash burgers and indulgent milkshakes. With most dishes priced under a tenner, it’s an easy go-to whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxed brunch with friends.
