If you’re a fan of a really good toastie, East Yorkshire has some brilliant spots that are well worth seeking out. From classic comfort combinations to completely unique creations, these three places all put their own spin on a lunchtime favourite – and they’re all doing it very well.
Over in Bridlington, Rhapsody Coffee & Company is a small independent café tucked away in one of the town’s most historic areas. It’s well known for its locally roasted coffee, but the toasties more than hold their own. There’s a nice mix of options, whether you’re after something lighter like the Veggie Deluxe with pesto, tomato, onion and cheese, or something much more indulgent like the Rhapsody Feast, packed with ham, chorizo, pepperoni and cheese. You can even add pulled pork if you’re feeling extra hungry, and the toasties pair perfectly with their homemade soups.
You can find Rhapsody at 84 High St, Bridlington YO16 4QA, and more info & opening times can be found on their Facebook and Instagram!
Back in Hull city centre, Everything Toastie lives up to its name. These are big, generously filled toasties that lean fully into comfort food. Seasonal specials regularly make an appearance too, including a festive Christmas dinner toastie that somehow manages to fit all the best bits into one handheld lunch. Fan favourites like the Pulled Pork Toastie, loaded with slow-cooked BBQ pork and melted cheese, and the Beef Ragu Toastie, made with rich, slow-cooked African-style beef, are full of flavour and seriously satisfying.
You can find Everything Toastie at 63 Carr Ln, Hull HU1 3RQ, and more info & opening times can be found on their Facebook and Instagram!
Then there’s Korna Grill on Paragon Street. Family-run and fairly unassuming from the outside, this place quietly serves some standout food. Their most unique offering has to be the Thrones – burger-toastie hybrids, where the usual bun is swapped for soft, golden toast. Both the chicken and beef versions are juicy, packed with flavour, and genuinely unlike anything else you’ll find in Hull.
You can find Korna Grill at 68 Paragon St, Hull HU1 3PW, and more info & opening times can be found on their Instagram!
