A new branch of the American burger chain Wendy’s is now open in Hull! The newest Wendy’s in Hull City Centre is located at 61-63 Jameson Street, and officially opened on 11 July 2024 at 10:30 am.
Square Burgers Limited was awarded £200,000 from Hull City Council to assist them in occupying Unit 1 of Grade II listed King Albert Chambers on Jameson Street in the city centre.
The funding is also supporting the introduction of 48 full-time equivalent jobs, in addition to helping bring back into use 350sqm of unused floor space. The total project costs are estimated at £1,170,565.18, meaning almost £1 million of private capital is being invested into Hull city centre.
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, the council’s portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “LUF is all about filling empty units in our city centre and creating new jobs, and this is exactly what this latest grant award does.
“Wendy’s has already invested heavily into Hull with its other restaurants and it’s great that this Levelling Up Funding can support it doing likewise in the city centre.”
This will be the third Wendy’s in Hull, making it the UK city with the most branches of the chain.
Opening hours for the new branch are as follows:
Monday-Thursday: 7:00 am – 11:00 pm
Friday-Saturday: 7:00 am – 11:00 pm
Sunday: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
The Jameson Street location will help ensure the future of the King Albert Chambers unit and bring more vitality to the area, which already hosts several major fast food outlets including McDonald’s and KFC.

Wendy’s announced plans in 2022 to expand across the UK, including the Midlands and the north of England, following initial success in London and the south. Hull joins cities like Manchester, Birmingham, and Sheffield in welcoming Wendy’s since the chain returned to the British market in 2021.
In addition to classic fast food items like burgers and chicken nuggets, Wendy’s menu features options such as Caesar chicken salad, avocado chicken salad, chilli con carne, baked potatoes, and loaded fries.
