Office technology business IT@Spectrum has rebranded as Spectrum to support its ambitious growth plans and mission to help companies thrive in the digital-first economy.

The rebrand reflects East Yorkshire-based Spectrum’s position as a leader in digital-led business transformation and commitment to helping its customers achieve improved efficiency, productivity and profitability through technology.

It also underlines Spectrum’s role as experts in automation, helping clients adapt to the ever-evolving workplace, where the pace of change has been accelerated by the impact of Covid.

The rebrand is a key element of Spectrum’s digital-led growth plans, with a target to more than double the size of the £10m turnover business over the next three years.

The award-winning company, based at Bridgehead business park in Hessle, plans to grow all facets of the business, including its market-leading print services and products. However, the trajectory of digital growth is forecast to be the steepest as customers embrace technology and adapt to the transformed, post-pandemic business environment.

Spectrum has expanded its team to supports its growth, employing 15 new members of staff over the past year, including a Head of Digital Solutions to drive forward its digital strategy. Spectrum is also hiring a further 12 young recruits to its successful Spectrum Campus training programme as it continues to invest in new talent.

The business helped many of its clients come through the pandemic by introducing them to digital business solutions and Spectrum is now focused on the next stage of its own development, which also includes exploring acquisition opportunities across the North of England.

Managing Director Rob Cavill says the name change from IT@Spectrum to Spectrum is part of the company’s digital-led growth strategy.

Spectrum Managing Director Rob Cavill said: “This is an incredibly exciting time, with so many opportunities for us to grow the business.

“The rebrand is a key element of our strategy. We’ve used Spectrum as the shorthand for the business for many years anyway and the new brand removes any potential confusion as to what we are and what we do.

“We’re not an IT support business – that’s our sister company The One Point. We provide our customers with highly-efficient print and information management services and help them to maximise the benefits of digital technology and automation.

“Our new name also reflects that we offer customers the full spectrum of services to work smarter, reduce costs, improve business processes and productivity and, ultimately, be more profitable, through digital technology.”

Spectrum’s clients include UK domestic boiler market leader Ideal Heating and fuel-to-shipping business Rix Group.

Spectrum has worked with Ideal to introduce transformational data and information capture software, automated workflows and document management solutions, as well as managing Ideal’s fleet of multi-functional printers and photocopiers. For Rix, Spectrum has revolutionised previously slow and cumbersome finance processes, including processing digitally thousands of purchase and sales invoices, through intelligent scanning and automated workflows.

Father Christmas and Colin the Elf visit Spectrum’s East Yorkshire-based head office to discover how automation can solve their Christmas workload crisis.

The rebrand is being promoted with the launch of a fun mini-film, “Spectrum Saves Christmas”, illustrating in the run-up to the festive season how Spectrum reduces or eliminates time-consuming manual processes to make operations more efficient and productive.

The humorous film depicts an overwhelmed Father Christmas swamped with letters from children, before Spectrum steps in to automate the process, digitise the naughty and nice lists, and enable Santa to get presents out to youngsters across the world.

The rebrand is further supported by the launch of a new company website, showcasing Spectrum’s experience, expertise and resources, as well as how customers across many sectors trust Spectrum to help make their business better.

Steve Motley, Spectrum’s Head of Digital Solutions, said: “The pandemic has shown like never before how vital digital technology is to companies across all sectors and how it can be leveraged to drive business performance.

“After all, who would have believed, before Covid, that entire businesses could be operated remotely with staff switching to working from home within days.

“Now it’s great that teams are back in the office or operating hybrid working models, but it’s clear the pace of digital transformation has been fast-tracked by the pandemic.

“That means there are many more opportunities for us to support customers to better understand and embrace the benefits of digital technology and automation. We have the expertise to help our clients to create tomorrow’s workplace, today.”

Spectrum also operates Canon Business Centre North East in Newcastle and has helped hundreds of organisations across the UK make significant savings in time and money, enabling them to focus on what matters most.
