Bridlington Spa is one of East Yorkshire’s most cherished live entertainment venues. It’s one of the most famous landmarks in Bridlington; hosting live music gigs every week, theatre tours direct from the West End, community activities and more.
The Bridlington Spa Theatre was rebuilt in 1907 after a fire destroyed the original building from 1896. The Royal Hall was first built in 1926, which replaced an earlier cast-iron and glass structure. It was then rebuilt in 1932 following extensive fire damage.
Throughout the life of Bridlington Spa, the Theatre and Royal Hall have been very popular for concerts, theatre, opera and public dances. In recent years, it’s also been in demand from the business community; hosting conferences and exhibitions.
By 2005, the general condition of the building had gradually deteriorated to the point where East Riding of Yorkshire Council had to undertake a full and thorough refurbishment of the entire facility.
