Public toilets in Queen Victoria Square now reopened

Hull City Council is pleased to announce the reopening of the public toilets in Queen Victoria Square following essential repair work.

Due to water leaking into the electrics, the public facilities in Queen Victoria Square have been closed since the end of 2023. Although KWL – the contractor appointed to carry out the works on behalf of the council – has been working incredibly hard to re-open the facilities as soon as possible, the incredibly wet winter ultimately led to delays.

However, following the recent dry weather, the repairs have now been successfully completed and the facilities have reopened to the public as of Saturday 1 June.

As well as repairing the electrical system, the facilities have received a deep clean – ready to welcome back the public.

Councillor Jack Haines, Portfolio Holder for Communities at Hull City Council, said: “We understand how important these facilities are, but we had to make sure that the toilets were safe before reopening to the public.

“Following the completion of the essential repair work, we’re delighted that the facilities can open again. These facilities are essential and play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and convenience of our residents and visitors alike.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience during the repair period and look forward to welcoming everyone back.”
