A brand-new Mediterranean grill and pizzeria has just opened its doors on Newland Avenue – and if you love fresh, flavour-packed food, you’re going to want to give this one a try.
Regano Pizzeria & Grill is Hull’s newest takeaway and delivery spot, serving up a menu inspired by the best of the Med – from grilled gyros and tender meats to seafood, pasta, and freshly baked pizzas. And yes, there’s even a brilliant salad for those of us who like to keep things lighter.
We popped in shortly after they opened and were seriously impressed by the quality of the food. We started with the fried halloumi starter, perfectly golden and served with sweet chilli dip and salad – the sort of thing you’ll want to order every time. Then came one of the standouts: a 12″ Italian-style Coriander Chilli Chicken pizza, made with fresh dough and packed with bold flavour.
If you’re hungry, the mixed grill box for two is the ultimate choice. It’s piled high with chicken, lamb, beef and kofta skewers, chicken gyros, freshly shaved lamb donner, grilled halloumi, potatoes, pitta and salad – a proper feast. We also tried the mixed fish platter for one, featuring grilled prawns, sea bass and salmon with rice – light, fresh and delicious. And the house salad deserves a mention too, with cucumber, chickpeas, beetroot, red onion, feta, olives, dill and a zesty lemon vinaigrette.
Inside, Regano has been completely transformed into a bright, welcoming space – perfect for relaxing while you wait for your order. You’ll find it at 220 Newland Avenue, towards the Cottingham Road end on the right-hand side.
