We tried Everything Toastie, the newly opened cafe in Hull City Centre! You can find it on Carr Lane, just across from Primark. As soon as we arrived the comfy atmosphere immediately drew us in, as we were welcomed with a large, cosy sofa and well-arranged seating. The big sign inside adds a playful touch, perfect for grabbing a photo or two for your Instagram feed.
The biggest highlight of the café is, of course, the imaginative menu. It’s filled with a variety of cleverly named toasties, ranging from classic staples to adventurous options. The cafe is hoping to add vegan options and jacket potatoes to the menu soon too!
We tried a couple of their favourite toasties, starting with the pepperoni pizza toastie – a fun and delicious treat, set apart by both the unique concept and the addition of Everything Toastie’s signature sauce, a West African-inspired tomato-based sauce that was as delightful on the side as it was enveloped within the toastie.
We tried the Cheesy Esther beans toastie too. Layered with cheddar, mozzarella, and a hearty mixture of refried baked beans with onion, garlic, chilli and seasoning, it was as unique as it was delicious! The toastie was cheesy, savoury and packed with layers of hearty flavours, enhanced by that Everything Toastie signature sauce, which we poured over the top giving every bite a warm and comforting twist.
What’s a café visit without sampling some beverages? The berry blast smoothie, packed to the brim with fruit, was the perfect sweet yet refreshing accompaniment to the toasties. The iced coffee was also a delightful surprise – visually appealing and rich in taste.
We finished our visit with some of their delectable dessert options. We tasted the syrup-glazed doughnut balls and a freshly baked truffle chocolate brownie, and both of these desserts were absolutely heavenly – the perfect sweet endings to a satisfying meal. They frequently switch up their sweet offerings too, so you can always look forward to something new!
Overall, we had a great experience at Everything Toastie, and its comfy atmosphere, innovative menu, and delightful service made it a real treat.
