42nd East Bakehouse has just opened its doors on the 1st Floor of St Stephen’s in Hull, and we had to see what it was all about. With a great reputation from their other UK locations, including one in Beverley, our expectations were high.
The interior is warm and cosy, with wooden furniture, cushions, and gentle lighting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed brunch or a sweet treat.
We dived straight into the brunch menu, sampling the bacon sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and the all-day breakfast. Each dish was delicious, but the mozzarella, avocado, tomato & pesto on ciabatta really stood out for its fresh flavours!
The maple bacon pancakes and the breakfast pancakes with blueberries, Greek yoghurt, and honey were a highlight too – definitely a must-try.
And of course, we couldn’t leave without sampling a few treats from the bakehouse. The bueno cheesecake was incredible, possibly the best cheesecake we’ve ever had, and the edible cookie dough cheesecake with its gooey centre was just as good.
42nd East Bakehouse also offers baking sessions where you can learn to make your own cheesecake or birthday cake, adding a fun, interactive element to the bakery experience!
Overall, we think 42nd East Bakehouse is a fantastic addition to Hull’s food scene. We loved everything we tried and can’t wait to visit again! Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
